Why Mama?

Inspired by day-to-day conversations with a three-year old.

Because your brother doesn’t want your feet on his highchair tray.

Because I am not tall enough to reach the sky.

Because you can’t wear the same underwear 3 days in a row.

Because I don’t know where the batteries are. (lie)

Because you can’t paint on the kitchen counter.

Because the iPad doesn’t work when we’re in the mountains.

Because that doesn’t match.

Because it’s going to be 90 degrees out, and those are fleece jammies.

Because I can’t reach what’s in the trunk while I’m driving.

Because you could break a window.

Because the sun didn’t want to come out today.

Because I can’t “catch up” with the cement truck that was driving in the opposite direction.

Because the oven is really hot.

Because I can’t possibly put every little speck of kinetic sand back in the sandbox.

Because you can’t just have gummies for dinner.

Because poop doesn’t come out of the pee hole.

Because if you watch another hour of the iPad, I’m going to feel like even worse of a mom.

Because I don’t know.

Because I’m tired.
