For Memorial Day, we had our first friends over (responsibly!) since stay-at-home orders began in March. I totally forgot how much I love to entertain! I dusted off the silverware caddy, the cloth tablecloth, wine chiller, beverage dispenser, and all of the other very unnecessary but very fun little tchotchkes we have hanging around from our wedding registry. Trying desperately to avoid the grocery stores, I was on a quest to find a recipe for a quick side dish that incorporated ingredients I already had! No such luck...
I used the bones of another recipe to create this. Long story short: it was a hit! I sent some leftovers home with my girlfriend, and we had leftovers for another couple of meals after that. A few days later, my girlfriend texted me for the recipe, which inspired me to get more creative than simply just texting it to her.
Stay-at-home time has gotten me to be a little more creative in the kitchen (something my husband and I call "culinary adventures"). Thus, this section of the blog has been born. I don't know when I'll get around to creating another one, but until then... here you go!
